Want to get rid of cellulite naturally? Try an algae bath! Cellulite is a problem that plagues millions of women, sending them to the cosmetics counter (or cosmetic surgeon) with money in hand for a possible cure. Cellulite is caused by tiny pockets of fat beneath the skin. It can be caused by poor diet and lack of exercise but genetics are the main decider of who gets it and who doesn't.

There are hundreds of over the counter cosmetic products marketed towards getting rid of those unwanted "dimples". Lotions and creams are plentiful but there are other bath products that work as well. Bathing beauties can try various bath cellulite treatments.

The ingredients in cellulite bath treatment vary between brands but there are some common components. Algae, obviously the key ingredient, contain amino acids and Vitamin E that work towards sliming and firming while providing antioxidants against free radicals. Many products contain more than one kind of algae for maximum results. The bath compound may also contain sea salts for exfoliation and moisturizing and fragrance oils.

Will soaking in a tub of algae bath break up the fat in the pockets that cause cellulite? It could at a low level but it is more for making the skin above the pockets look better so that the cellulite is less noticeable. If you don't use the bath regularly and eat poorly without exercise, the cellulite will come back to where it started.

Test to make sure that you're not allergic to the product before bathing in it. Apply a small amount to the skin on the back of your hand and neck and check for a reaction. Believe it or not, seaweed (algae) allergies are not uncommon. If you are not allergic, you can proceed with your cellulite treatment process.

Before you take a bath in the algae product, exfoliate with a sugar scrub or used coffee grounds if you'd like to kick start that cellulite banishing process (caffeine is a common ingredient in cellulite removal products). Follow the package directions to draw the bath and soak in the warm bath mixture for twenty to thirty minutes.

You can also skip the bath and apply the algae bath cellulite product as a body mask to your effected areas. Combine the bath mix with enough water to form a paste and apply a thick layer over the problem areas. Apply warm towels over the paste and allow to "bake" for ten to twenty minutes. Finish by rinsing off in a warm shower. You can then apply an anti-cellulite cream or lotion by rubbing it vigorously onto the cellulite.

Remember that a cellulite removal process can be helped along if you drink plenty of water, watch what you eat and exercise regularly. Over the counter products like the algae bath cellulite treatments and the lotions and creams can help reduce the visible signs of cellulite but they're not miracle cures. The fat inside those pockets needs to be dissolved and a diet and exercise plan is the best option outside of a cosmetic procedure.
