Can a cellulite treatment using coffee grounds really be effective? Caffeine is arguably the most commonly used legal drug in the planet. Millions of people worldwide use the stimulant to keep themselves alert. It turns out that the benefits of caffeine can also be realized with topical application. One such way of doing this is a cellulite treatment using coffee grounds directly onto the skin. Caffeine is a bitter solid substance found in tea, coffee, chocolate, and other natural produce. It dilates blood vessels, increasing both the speed and volume of blood flow throughout the body. Its most significant effects include the brain and heart, making them both work harder. However, studies and personal anecdotes alike have revealed that caffeine can also provide significant benefit when used as a topical agent. This evidence has led to an explosion of skincare products claiming to deal with everything from baggy eyes to cellulite with caffeine. Fortunately for the consumer, the popularity of caffeine is not hype, but based on quality research. Cellulite, which is the appearance of cottage cheese-like lumps on the surface of skin, is the result of many factors. Women are more susceptible to visible cellulite than men simply because of the amount and the way by which their bodies store fat. Cellulite is not caused by, but can be aggravated by body weight. Other contributors are a poor diet, water retention, and a sedentary lifestyle. Caffeine’s behavior as a stimulant is what makes it such an effective weapon against cellulite. Caffeine combats one of the major drawbacks of a sedentary lifestyle: poor circulation. When a person suffers from poor circulation, their body is unable to not only deliver nutrients, but cannot get rid of toxins and excess water in the body. Caffeine’s ability to increase circulation, even when applied topically, can get rid of water being stored in the body that can cause fat to be pushed against the skin, further aggravating the lumpy appearance. The benefits of increased blood circulation, detoxification and transpiration also explain why some people are getting very good results with infrared saunas (Infrared saunas are extremely effective in all three of the before mentioned areas). Some people prefer to combine the treatments and use the coffee ground method in their infrared sauna for improved results. Also, being a stimulant, caffeine can lend the skin a more toned and firm appearance, similar to what is seen as a result of exercise. This effect also helps to reduce the appearance of cellulite. Coffee beans has more caffeine than any other consumed natural plants. They are ground and treated with hot water to release the large amounts of caffeine within. As a cellulite treatment, coffee grounds that are a viable option. For a great cellulite treatment using coffee grounds, obtain warm, recently used coffee grounds, making sure that they were not in water for too long or burned, both of these conditions means that there will be very little caffeine in the coffee grounds to use. A good amount is ¼ to ½ of a cup. Also find a little olive oil, a loofah mitt (optional) and some plastic wrap. Mix the coffee grounds into the olive oil thoroughly. Using your hands or the loofah mitt (to be used exclusively for this method), massage the coffee grounds- olive oil mixture directly onto the cellulite-affected area, moving hands in a circular motion. After applied thoroughly, use the plastic wrap and wrap it around area of application, firmly but not tightly. After several minutes, remove wrap and coffee grounds. Wash area with warm water to remove olive oil residue. It is important to note that even though a single cellulite treatment using coffee grounds will yield temporary results, prolonged use of this method on a regular basis could result in some pleasing changes in the texture a person’s skin.
