Why is it so difficult to diminish cellulite and stretch marks? The cosmetic departments are full of lotions, oils, and treatments that promise extraordinary results in reducing cellulite and or the appearance of stretch marks. Granted, those expensive creams and lotions may help to lessen the appearance, but most certainly will not “cure” your body from this condition. Cellulite affects the greater part of all women after the age of adolescence; thin or overweight, it does not matter. Cellulite is genetic and some are more likely to have it than others. Many women have tried every conventional method offered, and still with no real results. We are just plagued and we have to live with that fact, however, there are things you can do to reduce the signs before they get too severe. Before you can understand the dynamics of why cellulite is so hard to get rid of, you must first understand the difference between cellulite and stretch marks. Cellulite is actually part of the fat structure; a part of the skin itself, so-to-speak. It is caused by hormonal changes in the body after puberty and thus is classified as a medical condition or a disease. Stretch marks are tears in the skin due to weight gain due to getting pregnant, obesity, or simply just growing too fast. This has to do with the skin’s elasticity and not a chemical or hormonal condition. Although there is available to women an anti-cellulite sculpt slimming treatment, and numerous other treatments for the reduction of stretch marks, the total elimination of either is highly unlikely and if available, would be very costly. Two such treatments are “Endermologie” and “Mesotherapy”. Endermologie is, for the short story, is an external device used to roll away the cellulite while suctioning the area at the same time. This is a temporary fix and helps to blood circulation to stimulate collagen and restore skin to a more normal look and feel. Mesotherapy is a bit more invasive; it consists of injecting certain medicines and vitamins into the second layer of the skin. Either treatment is not a cure to diminish cellulite and stretch marks; it is only a way to relieve the symptoms and appearance of cellulite. Neither treatment is yet being used in the United States, but Doctors here are keeping a very close watch on its progress and results. Stretch marks can be prevented or in the very least, lessened considerably if you use the old saying “an ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure”. The trick is to not wait until they begin to show. Treat your skin responsibly by moisturizing it daily and drinking lots of water. Eat the foods and take vitamins that nourish you skin and protect yourself from the sun. That’s even before you get pregnant. While pregnant be sure to continue to moisturize and care for your skin to make sure you have as much elasticity as you need to carry a baby in your abdomen. Stay fit, walk if your doctor allows it, and always use sun block. As you can see there is a big difference between cellulite and stretch marks; but needless to say, if you have them, they feel like the same thing. Women have gone to great lengths to treat cellulite with cosmetics, exercising, and even as far as surgery for cellulite treatment. I’m sorry to say, however, those are only treatments and not a cure, as science has yet to uncover the mystery surrounding the inabilities to diminish cellulite and stretch marks. Whoever that person might be, when that day comes, will be a god among women; and really, really rich.
