Many people in the United
States and abroad are turning to non surgical cellulite reduction
methods as a way to not only save money, but also to reduce the risk
associated with cosmetic procedures involving surgery. There are
several different procedures that can be preformed to help get rid of
unwanted cellulite.
These procedures are
generally safe, and can be very affordable in comparison to other
cosmetic procedures. Many are done in an outpatient or spa type setting
where the patient can enjoy maximum comfort and a short recovery time.
Non surgical cellulite
reduction methods include:
- Endermologie
– a sub dermal approach to treating cellulite, endermologie
is the first cellulite reduction method to be approved by the FDA. It
was pioneered in France by LPG Systems. Endermologie is non-surgical
and non-invasive. It generally involves 35 minute sessions that are
preformed 15 to 18 times. After initial treatment, once a month
follow-up treatments are usually recommended to maintain results.
Endermologie can not only improve skin tone and slow down the signs of
aging, but it can help you reduce cellulite as well.
- Mesotherapy
– a method that involves the injection of targeted
medications in the skin. These medications can help reduce the
appearance of cellulite by blocking the alpha receptors of fat cells
and stimulating the beta receptors. Mesotherapy is an outpatient
procedure that involves 40 minute sessions. Most patients go for 10 to
12 rounds of treatment and patients can return to daily activities
after receiving treatments. Mesotherapy is a good alternative for those
who do not wish to go through surgery.
- VelaSmooth
– a massage based method that reduces cellulite. VelaSmooth
is another treatment method that has been approved by the FDA for the
treatment of cellulite. It works by using rollers an vacuum pressure to
manipulate the skin in problem areas. VelaSmooth also uses radio
frequency and infrared light to target fat cells. VelaSmooth treatments
last less than an hour and are usually preformed twice a week for 4 to
8 weeks. Monthly follow up treatments are recommended in order to
maintain results. Many patients report a VelaSmooth feels like a deep
tissue massage which can be very relaxing.
There are many non
surgical ways to reduce cellulite. Be sure to talk to a practitioner
about all possible options and methods before you commit to treatment.
Treatments can be expense, so do your research before spending your
money!
